Reflection: Our interview with Jamal Young was very informative and helpful.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

One of our questions was “In nyc a very diverse place with people of all races, are black and latino people targeted the most?” he thinks that the targeting happens because different groups of people arrived at different times and their political power. He talked about how white police officers were never actually taught to target black people in the accedemy and that the racism would start at home. Jamal’s answers were very smart and well put.
