What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:
By writing letters to abortion workers, I felt like I was able to directly connect with people who have made a big impact on women’s life. Abortion workers have also helped women of color and women in poverty. I expressed why I was personally thankful for their work, and how I feel supported by them and everybody at Planned Parenthood. I think that as much as we need to recognize the people or laws and rules that aren’t helping and need to change, we also should express gratitude to the people like the ones working at Planned Parenthood that are helping solve the issue.
