What I did:

My group and I participated in a training to be an ally to immigrants in the legal system.

What I learned:

This fieldwork touched upon an aspect of immigration we hadn’t quite touched upon yet. We learned a lot about the detension centers, the court system and how our legal system takes advantage of immigrants.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

When deported the immigrants are held in detension centers before relocated into the country. The detension centers jail cells basicle have the same amount of room as a dog kenel. The immigrants are then given numbers. This is a terrible dehumanizing system. The legal system likes to take advantage of the

My name is Zach Cappadocia and I'm a part of the Immigration and DACA 2018 social justice group. Immigration in the U.S.A is currently a huge issue in the Trump administration. The government is using immigration laws as gambling pieces and DACA recipients as political pawns. Its time we break the stereotypes and hysteria behind immigrants and fight.
