What I did:

We did an interview over Skype with a refugee who came to America from Iraq via Cairo.

What I learned:

I learned that when a refugee comes to America they are allowed to travel with their family. I learned that to gain refugee status there are two criteria. The first criterium is that you fled your country of origin, the second being that it is not safe to return.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that often if somebody does something good for someone that person often wants to pay it forward.
