My Poem

Haiku  myPhone: Phones are great friends, but

We all smash them way too much

And then we feel dead

Elmo who are you

No I don’t want a picture

Please leave me alone

It’s baseball season

Get ready to play again

It’s  game time ready

Jealousy

My favorite number is not 7 It is 8.

When people see me they go right past me like I am a green light

But when people see him they stop and stare and like he’s a red light

Why don’t kids pay more attention to me

People think I’m lucky

But I don’t feel lucky.

Coke used to be my best friend and then he turned his can on me.

I have forty grams of sugar but he has sixty grams.

I don’t have food coloring but he does.

I don’t feel up

I feel down.

I am 7 up.

Sitting on the bench alone.

People shooting stairs at me.

My one companion going crazy with his friends.

Already thinking about how scared I was that I had to go on a overnight with these crazy kids.

Interconnectedness of Human Body Systems

From all the body system groups one of the biggest takeaways I had from this is that all the systems help each other. They help each other by giving them stuff for example the skeletal System is the structure of the muscular system. From studying the circulatory system I learned that our body is like a pattern what I mean by this is that are blood travels in a circle and it meets in the heart, and mussel.

Puzzle pieces

I am happy with how my piece is coming out because the pieces turned out very good. Also, the monuments are pretty good in my opinion. My next step is to finish painting Pier 40 and then glue all my monuments on to the correct puzzle piece. Also I will put the too little circles that fell off their piece back on to their piece.

Mama: It helps her cover up, and find a husband.

Tilda: Phulan come here and show us pieces of clothing you have on. Tell us about these clothes.

Dadi: This is a traditional blue chadar with a beautiful red and black dress of sorts to cover up.

Mama: It helps her cover her face to be good to Allah. I also think…

Dadi: Let me speak. According to our religion men speak more.

Mama: Actually it’s our culture (start to say and but Dadi interrupts her)

Dadi: It’s okay I can take this.

Tilda: So who is she wearing?

Dadi: Herself, she is wearing herself.

Tilda: I mean who made this?

Mama: Me

Puzzle Pieces

In art we are making art work with maps on them. My first step was fill out a sheet with my idea and then give it to Jeremiah. My idea was that I would make puzzle pieces hint the name of the post. After I got the okay from Jeremiah I cut out Manhattan and measured out were the puzzle pieces should be. I chose to make puzzle pieces because I once made a puzzle that had the map of Chicago with 3d monuments. Which I will put on the pieces in the correct location. After I drew all the pieces out on the map I glued the map to a foam board and started cutting.Screenshot 2016-05-09 at 10.50.30 AM

Murad

tt3601923-1  ” Someone had to stay,” Murad says. His eyes are gentle and serious.”

I cant believe Hamir is gone just like that with one shot of the the gun. Phulan must be devastated about this news. I will probably be asked to marry Phulan now. My brother would want me to take very good care of her. I am going to have to use all my strength to not hurt that horrible man  Nazir Mohammed. We have made a deal with him that I will keep all our land and Nazir will not disturb the flow of irrigation water. I still can’t believe that my brother is gone. I will miss him very much.

Dadi Blog Entry #1

” Shabanu you and Phulan help auntie pack the most important stuff. Leave what isn’t important. Keep the fire going” Pg 158. I am so upset right now. Shabanu sneaked out and was almost hurt by a crazy land lord. Shabanu and Phulan came home breathless and told me everything that happened. I am going to have to send all the girls away. The wedding will be ruined and Phulan will be devastated but this is for there safety. I am going to have to punish Shabanu for her actions of leaving the canal. How will Shabanu react to her punishment? I am going to send them to Derawar. They will leave tomorrow bright and early in the morning. I also will have to get Hamir and Murad to come with me to kick Nazir Muhammad off our land.
