From our study of the body system, I learned a lot. I learned what each system does, and how. I also learned how each system connects to each other, and a lot about the immune system. I studied the immune system with Olivia B and Elijah. Below is my test that we took on Tuesday, May 24. We made a stock and flow map that shows how the systems connects, and the inputs and outputs of each system.

Structure Fits Function: Macrophage Edition

How does the structure of a macrophage fit its function? Well, this is how…

Macrophages are blobs. They have microtubules in them. Microtubules are long, bendable filaments that make cells malleable. Microtubules are made out of a protein called Tubulin.That allows the macrophage to move around and morph into different shapes. Because they can morph, they can move around and engulf antigens. If you had a specific structure, you couldn’t do that. It’s ability to morph is perfect for its function.

In science we were studying how much of each food group we should eat in a meal. We estimated how much grain, protein, dairy, fruit and vegetables we ate. One was 2 weeks ago, the other was of last week.

I think we improved a little in the after. We still eat way to much grain and vegetables, but we’re doing good with protein and fruitsand dairy. I think to improve we all need to eat less a lot less grain and vegetables, and more fruit and dairy.

This is a punnet square. The big p stands for black eyes and the little p stands for red eyes. The top row of p’s are Cosmos’s genes and the side row is the dad’s genes. The right column in the square has two little p’s in each so those babies will definitely have red eyes because there is no gene there for black eyes. In the other column it has a big p and little p in both of the squares so there is a 50 50 chance for the babies eye color.

My strategy for the Crocodile is too play lots of animals and plants that the Crocodile eat, lots of animals and plants that the animals that the Crocodile eat and lots of animals that eat my opponents character. The only thing that can eat the Crocodile is a Hyena, but as long as all of the animals that the Crocodile eat are in play, the Hyena will die.

This is my Spaceship Earth. It will keep the crew alive because there’s a way that you can drink any liquid waste and eat any organic solid waste, and a way to recycle. I put in a water boiling system so the water can be re-drunk. The solid waste can be recycled, or composted.  The Carbon Dioxide can be breathed by the banana trees, and make oxygen.
