Imagine The Future

feel2

“When you were in lower school, what was soemthing that you were excited about for fifth grade? How do you feel about it now that you’ve done it?
What was something about fifth grade that you were a little nervous or worried about? How do you feel about it now?
What is something about which you are still a little nervous or worried? What might you do to feel a little less nervous or worried?
What is something that you haven’t done yet in middle school about which you are excited? What are you excited about it?”

When I was in lower school I was excited to be able to wear my halloween costume to school on halloween and get chocolate milk and dessert at lunch. I feel really good now that I have done it, but now I can’t be excited about it anymore so that kind of stinks.

In lower school I was worried about not understanding what is going on in class. I feel good about it now because middle school isn’t a crazy amount harder then lower school. I was also nervous about not being able to know my way around the middle school. I feel good about this now because I know how to navigate around the middle school.

I am still a little worried about managing all my homework with my busy schedule. On monday I have ballet and lyrical dance. On tuesday I have ballet and circus arts. On wednesday I have saxophone and israeli dance. On thursday I have ballet and jazz dance. On friday I am free. On saturday I have tap dance. On sunday I have nothing. I could feel less worried by trying my very hardest to get all my homework done. This has been going well so far, but I am still a little worried about it.

I still haven’t done math seminar and I really want to be chosen to do that. I am also really excited to be in the middle school plays because it looks like the middle schoolers that participate have a lot of fun practicing and performing.

My Population Graph

I forgot to bring my math book home today (friday) so I don’t have a picture of my new graph. I will add a photo to this post on monday night. My graph basically had all the dots at the bottom until the very end. At the end it was very steep. I think it is this shape because I know from the video today in class that  there were only one million people somewhere in the eighteen hundreds. I was so surprised when I found that out that there were only one million people on the whole earth in the eighteen hundreds. I thought there would be at least six billion people by then.

Social Studies Activity

The activity that we did in social studies was to put events in chronological order. My group had trouble figuring out when the events that were smaller and weren’t talked about for a long time in the video. Such as: When coal was made. By putting these events in order I learned when all the events that weren’t mentioned very much in the video took place. It also helped remember what the words chronology and chronological meansphoto better.

My Atom

I think this is what an atom look like because the pointy thing at the top is spinning and that is what has all the energy in it. I know that no more energy is being created, but I think something spinning might be how it is compacted and stored inside. The challenges I had were being able to think about what I thought an atom looked like and what I thought would be the most realistic. At first I pictured an atom as just a clear ball.Screen Shot 2014-10-09 at 9.04.43 AM

Math Graph Picture

I notice that most groups did story C, some of the groups did story A, and the least amount of groups did story B.  Some of the graphs don’t make sense to me because they don’t start at the bottom or there are dots at the bottom, but no lines. Some of the graphs are curved and some of the graphs are straight. It looks like some of the graphs are still in the wrong place because there is a curved graph under the A story. All the graphs look different. Even the ones that are for the same story. I think we should all say which graph was ours and work out all the problems about them.CLW5-graphs

My Planner Idea

My group and I were thinking that maybe the homework planner could have all the things we all like on it. It can be blue, sassy and funny. Maybe we could do a joke of the day.

I was thinking that maybe we could do a social media themed piece of paper. Each person would make one and then they would get it printed out every two weeks.Photo on 10-2-14 at 7.54 PM
