Anna Mueller – Blog Post #8: Character Communication

Up until yesterday, the way in which Astrid (Hanna’s character) and Natalie (my character) communicated was by sending letters back-and-forth. However, we recently shifted to email communication as it would allow us to produce more writing at a faster rate. Also, it made sense within the context of our piece. We created fake email accounts under our characters’ names so that we could take pictures and include the emails in our final product. This is also a bit more realistic considering the fact that high school students typically don’t resort to letter writing as the main form of communication so it will seem a bit more natural to the reader. We spent a bit of time trying to figure out how to make the shift seamless, and the best option seemed to be to close the postal service in our story, so Astrid communicates this to Natalie and gives her an email address.
