Hanna Provost– Week 2 Post (#6)

This week Anna and I wrote our first letters back and forth each other’s characters. In our story, my character finds a note left by Anna’s asking someone to send a letter if they found it. These are going to be our pieces that we share with our Cohort group on Wednesday.

I found this to be a bit harder than I was expecting. While I was almost at this point in my journal, I found the letter difficult to write because I had to approach it as if the recipient knew nothing about my character’s life. I was basing everything off the journal I wrote, so it was hard to remember that Anna’s character hadn’t read the journal and knew nothing yet. I helped myself with this by listing bullet points of what I wanted to say in the letter, and adding them in as I went along. This really helped me because it made sure that I didn’t forget anything while also letting me feel free to write more without worrying about forgetting.
