EQ: How does the infant brain structure work?
This week has been a little slower than I had anticipated in terms of progression in my online course. The class has gotten progressively harder and though I am learning a lot, it’s getting harder to pace myself. I have tried setting goals on how long I spend on an online course as opposed to setting goals on what sections to finish in a day. This has proven to be the most efficient way of making use of my time. I am starting to get familiar with the idea that it is through a routine that habits can be made, as opposed to just setting weekly goals. At the beginning of this week, I took some time to do some more reading since it is a way I can expand my knowledge without having to constantly note-take things I am confused about. I am able to explore theories through my own curiosity. I missed being able to read for long increments of time. So far I have read a lot about babies. A peer introduced me to this show on Netflix called “Babies,” which has really opened my eyes to a lot of topics I haven’t thought about yet. Although the docuseries does not explore the science of babies into the depth I had hoped it would, it has definitely been an engaging way to think about things outside the babies’ brain during development such as what is going on in the parent’s brain and the science of breastmilk. It’s also incredibly adorable. I hope to continue finding ways of making this research engaging and to keep pacing myself.
