This week I learned about benefits and the importance of having benefits and rewards in business. One of the things that I was given to think and read about was rewarding positive behavior in children. Children, like adults, enjoy attention. Children tend to continue a behavior that secures attention. Behavior that does not arouse a reaction or is ignored is likely to eventually fall by the wayside. Children who don’t receive positive reinforcement will act out in order to get some kind of attention. However, at the same time there are certain expectation and behaviors that should just be done. They shouldn’t be rewarded because the child should think of them as the basics. This is the same with business and employees. Everyone gets benefits for going the extra mile, but you have to be careful between the life of benefits and business as usual.
