One of the things that I have learned through my senior project is the need for structure and outside motivation. At first I thought it would be great to have a lot of time on my hands because I would be able to do whatever I wanted with it. However, I quickly found out that it wasn’t as simple as that. When I had all the time in the world, I would spend a lot of it doing things that weren’t useful but would just fill up my time. Like checking my email, reading the newspaper, etc. I would tell myself that these things were informative and needed to be done, but in reality I was just using them as an excuse to say I was doing something. Meeting with my cohort group would motivate me, which made me realize that I am a person that needs to be around others in order to be productive.
