I am almost done with the second book, The Dark Forest. About the last 5th of the book, around 150 pages takes place 2oo years in the future. And just everything about the book is very crazy, and I couldnt begin to explain in a blog post. So in this post I will focus on two things, one what 3/4 of the Wallfacers did with their unprecedented power, and then what Lou Ji, the only Wallfacer with the ability to defend earth against tri-solorus sees when he awakes from hibernation 200 years in the future. 3/4 of the Wallfacers developed plans to destroy humanity. The most rational being Rey Diaz’s whose plan was to essentially use millions of hydrogen bombs to blow up mercury, and cause a chain reaction leading mercury to fly into the sun. The impact would create a mercury ring orbiting the sun which would crash into all the planets making them go into the sun as well. So his plan was to hold the solar system hostage until tri-s shows up and then threaten to destroy them both. The most costly was Bill Hines’s plan. Like Lou Ji, Bill Hines was re-awoken 200 years later. Without the ability to delve into the quantum realm humanity has made its space fleet incredibly strong, and invented what looks like infinite energy (nothing ever needs to charge or a new battery). However, this is because they blast them with rays from the outside to make them run. It turns out the biggest cities are in space or underground, as we were able to advance so well do to the fact that we stopped caring about pollution. As humans have now created warships that will crush the tri-solorian fleet, the Wallfacers who have woken 200 years later have lost all there status.
