April 26th

I forgot what number blog post this was (I think it’s 6?) but here we are. It’s Sunday, eve of the 4th week of Kamara and I’s Senior Experience. Crime week has ended and comedy week is coming up; I’m very excited.

The project is going well so far. We’re staying on target, watching and talking about the movies. In the past week, I think we recorded our best episode yet (about Scarface & Pusher). I think the conversation about Pusher was fairly basic, but when we spoke about Howard Hawke’s Scarface, our conversation went much deeper than the film. It achieved what I’ve been wanting to get out of all these conversations; not just talking about lighting or camera movement but film as a message, film as witness and documentary and cultural art piece. In that conversation about Scarface I think we did all of that really really well. I hope it was entertaining to listen to.

In the upcoming week, we’re going to record an episode with River (hopefully tomorrow but we’ll find out tomorrow) so it should be fun to record with a new person and get some new thoughts on the upcoming films.

We also almost have 200 streams, so that’s pretty cool.
