Peter Mamaev graphic novel update 4/13

Beyond continuing work on the project itself, I have additionally reached out to my first contact, indie writer Jed McPherson, but have so far received crickets in return. I am beginning to wonder if I should contact Harrison and ask him to ask Jed for me, just because I don’t want to be left hanging, hoping for an interview that will never happen for the next few weeks.

Aside from that I have found that balancing drawing and other matters is becoming increasingly difficult, especially with the last (admittedly complex) page taking up far more time than I anticipated. Artistically I am beginning to find it difficult to improvise backgrounds, given the story itself takes place in a locale that’s very lively and specific in its design – a sort of dystopia retro futuristic London, just recovering from the Blitz. It is quite notable that the my character designs are still a battle between cartoon and realism, and I am trying to avoid the scenario where half the characters look like Roman statues while the other resemble high-quality notebook doodles.
