Pierre’s CR #1

Firstly, I learned about operators and how the computer reads mathematical terms.

Secondly, I learned the autofill button which is a very useful control. I showed my dad, who uses Excel every day, this control and he was amazed. He’s self-taught so a lot of his skills were naturally developed. In this assignment, I calculated retail price, taxes, subtotals, shipping cost, and profit margins.

Lastly, I used my newly learned skills to complete the profit margin column (Q), the subtotal column (S), the discount amount in dollars in column (T) and finally the order total in column (V). I love how my classes use business-like spreadsheets which allow me to get real-life experience in a possible future field of mine.

Recently, I started working with values that are sitting in different worksheets. Many times people try to copy and paste data using (command c and command v). However, on excel that is a really bad idea, because if something should update in another worksheet, your data will be incorrect. This is how our workbooks can get out of step and cause us real problems. I used relative references to copy and paste data from preexisting worksheets. This is a useful trick because if not followed, your spreadsheet will get messy and complicated.

Here is a video that I made in which I show audience members how to correctly copy data and paste it on excel worksheets.

Above are pictures of the some of the work I have completed so far
