In December my social justice group had a conference call with Joseph Blocher, a professor from Duke University. He had recently written an op-ed on the recent demonstrations supporting being allowed on college campuses. In his opinion, this was a dangerous precedent that he did not support at all. His op-ed was interesting as it presented many facts about the issue. First, he talked about how many guns there are in America. Then he talked about why people want guns on college campuses: based on the recent shootings on college campuses, students want to protect themselves. After that he spoke about the fact that if you own a gun, you are more likely to hurt yourself or others in your home with it. He  believed that this applied to college campuses as well.
