My group visited dress for success on the Saturday we got off from break. We took the B train down to 34th street and walked over to the building. We went up stairs and met this very kind lady named Beverly. She is the one who introduced us to everyone who worked there and gave us the background information of dress for success. Dress for Success gives out clothes for interview or a weeks work of work close to people who don’t have enough to afford it. Dress for success helps 3,000 women a year, each client that comes in has to come back in for a monthly check in. It has a small boutique that their clients can pick from. Also the people their help them to find the right fit for their client. After their clients picked from the selected clothes the people who work their help them either prep for an interview or for their check in they would talk about how their job is going on. There questions were about thier job or how to bring up your resumè. But mostly to check in with the client and see how they were doing. My group and I worked on organizing the boutique and to just help them out. We were all putting the pants and skirts into order by size then by color and if their were pants of skirts. We then worked on getting the suits together and by the end we were working on picking out shoes. We had to pick out every shoe that was in good shape and that another person could wear on a daily bases. That was mostly it, it was a pretty fun experience and I think we should go back. My group are trying to have a drive for Dress for success which will hopefully happen soon!
