What I learned from “Wasted the Story of Food Waste.”

I thought it was so interesting to watch the documentary “Watsed the Story of Food Waste.” I learned so much about food waste, which helped me understand more about it. I learned how many chefs, restaurants, and grocery stores help with food waste. Many places use so many kinds of scraps and food that will go to waste for dishes like soups and other meals. I learned how bread crusts or wasted bread gets used to make a beer called “Toast.” We learned about how stores throw away food because of its appearance. Many grocery stores have been wasting food from expiration dates. Most foods with expiration dates are still edible and are just incorrect dates. This “Best Buy Dates” method wastes tons of daily food.

I also learned how feeding animals corn, grain, and seeds wastes tons of good food that could be fed to many people. The documentary taught us that if we fed scrap food and wasted food to animals instead of corn and grain, we could feed 3 million people. This was very interesting because I had never thought that if we fed animals grain and corn, we could feed people who need food worldwide.

Overall, this documentary was so good, and I enjoyed watching it. I recommend that people watch “Wasted the Story of Food Waste” if they would like to learn more about food waste and ways to help. It helped me have a different perspective on food waste and made me realize how different places help with it and how our community should help.
