Interview with Ro Pena, Co-founder of Transformative schools.

On January 21st, Niro and I went to the Trans-Formative schools in Manhattan, to Interview Ro Pena, the Co founder. This was two days after Donald Trump, was elected. We talked a lot about how that choice is going to affect queer kids in America and what he’s going do that affect these kids. We discussed growing up and how growing up in a more diverse and accepting community verses a non accepting community affects kids. Along with the election and the new people in the white house. We talked about the tiktok ban will affect communities all around the world, and snap people’s connections with other people like them, and silence communities. Media is overall a very big part of this, as we’ve learned the more we’ve studied, and as other people we’ve interviewed had said

May is a Jewish girl, living in Brooklyn, New York. She is very interested in mental health and has always wanted to be a Therapist or Counselor. Studies have shown that LGBTQIA+ people struggle with their mental health more than straight or cisgender people.
