What I did and what I learned about my topic, activism, social justice work or civil and human rights work from this fieldwork?[:: :

We had an interview with Sofia Zuberbuhler-Yafar from Green Infrastructure and Sustainable/Resilient Infra Program. The Green Infrastructure and Sustainable/Resilient Infra Program helps protect the sewage system from stormwater. Stormwater getting into the pipes and sewage system in NYC could be very dangerous for multiple reasons. Learning about this taught us that we should never do the laundry when it is raining.

We talked with Sofia about the dangers of water pollution and the effects that it has. Like I said before, we mostly talked about storms and rainwater and how this is a major issue when talking about this topic. We learned new vocabulary words and the names of objects that both positively and negatively affect water pollution. This was a very successful interview and I feel like our group learned a lot of helpful information.
