Re enfranchiseing the Florida Felons

Name: Dash

Social Justice Group: 2018-2019

Date of Fieldwork: October 1, 2018

Name of Organization: Lift every vote

Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles: Molly Harris Briget OIsen

Type of Fieldwork: Direct Action

What I did:

We wrote 247 post cards as a group to the people who live in Florida. Our goal was to change people mind to pass Amendment 4. Thats the right to re enfranchise 1.5 million felons. We wanted to support. This needs 60 percent of the vote to pass.

What I learned:

I learned about the re enfranchisement of the Florida felons who have served there time trying to get there voting rights back. I learned how to address and stamp a post card. It limits voting.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

I learned that there are 1.5 million people who cant vote and have done there time. It makes the people feel out of society. since we live in a democracy why are they blocking voting. Post card right in your face and works.
