What I did:

For this fieldwork my group and I stayed in for lunch and recess and watched the Girl Rising movie. Girl Rising is an organization we have partnered up with and they recommended a movie for us to watch. This movie was consisted into nine different stories of girls who told their experiences of being a young girl in this developing countries.

What I learned:

Something I learned about my topic was that Girls & Women´s education is a big topic. Women not having an education can lead into so many different things that can affect young girls lives. Women not having an education can lead into child marriages, trafficking, and young pregnancies.

What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:

Something I learned about the social justice work after the movie was just trying to raise awareness. In the movie they brought up a lot of statistics and facts about young girls who don´t have an education. I felt like this movie definitely gave us a lot of ideas on our project and taught us that raising awareness by using statistics is really important.
