What I did:
Lima James who works at LifeWay Network, who we had a fieldwork with in the past, decided to come in and talk to the 8th graders about human trafficking. She has a presentation prepared and gave everyone a basic understanding of the issue.
What I learned:
I learned even more facts than what i had already known. A fact that stood out to me was that human trafficking is the 2 largest criminal industry. I thought it was 3rd. It was crazy how large this number was and it really stood out to me
What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:
It was also interesting to see that some people( in our grade even) knew so much about trafficking, while some people knew not that much. It is important to be aware about what is/ could happen at any moment. We are so thankful that Lima came in to do this because it was so interesting for us, but also to see our classmates learn more about it.
