Person (people) with whom I met and their job titles:
Type of Fieldwork: March
What I did:
I met up with my friends at the high school for the second women’s march. I devoured some Crispy Creams and then we all left the high school at ten. We met up with the rest of the marchers and marched for a few hours.
What I learned:
I didn’t learn really anything about my topic since it’s not focused on women in education. I still enjoyed the march and saw so many amazing signs. It was a great experience to be in a march with so many other people who can all agree that gender equality is important.
What I learned about Social Justice “work” and/or Civil and Human rights “work” from this fieldwork:
I learned that anyone can take action. I saw little kids and dogs at the march, so to the people that didn’t show up, a dog cares more than you. Marches are a great way to take action and show that you care, and everyone see’s it. It’s on TV, and it’s almost impossible to miss, which is why they’re so effective.
