For this fieldwork we went to work with Everytown to Prevent Gun Violence to help them with their work at their headquarters uptown. We did the work that would cost them time and money so they could use that time to work on something that would benefit the cause of gun control. For example we had to organize a ton of storage boxes to make sure everything was in the right spot. There were so many un-organized boxes with hats, posters, flags, glasses and many more things. After that we had to take all the information on what we fixed and organized on to a computer. Although it seemed really boring and tiring we were allowed to get snacks. They brought us to the biggest snack area I have ever seen. They had everything you could ask for! After our snacks we went back up to finish storing the boxes. This was a very fun experience because I have never really spent 4 to 5 hours volunteering for people. I’m just happy we got to do it because we saved these people so much time out of their lives. Also, it was very cool because we were working with other people, there was a mother and her daughter helping us. We would all work together and talk about what we’ve done and what we have to do. This fieldwork was very fun.
