My group wanted to watch a film called Trevor, which is about a boy named Trevor that discovers he is gay. Trevor is a 13 year old that starts to develop feelings towards his best friend Pinky. His whole school thinks he is gay since he is depicted as a stereotypical gay kid. After we watched the movie my group decided to show the short film to the eighth grade to spread awareness of the hardships someone of the LGBTQ community could face. We had an introduction to the film and then showed them Trevor. Lastly, we asked our classmates a couple of questions. I think it went very well as many people were participating in the group discussion. Everyone’s answers seemed very thoughtful and I could tell they were thinking very deeply. Many people brought up new topics about the film that my group had not even thought of. We hoped that by showing them the film that they would be an ally to their LGBTQ classmates.
This is how the Trevor movie looks like.
