Throughout this social justice project we hoped that people would understand the discrimination of women in the workforce. We hoped that we would show the younger kids in our school that we can make a difference in the world, and that anyone can. People need to learn about this problem and to fix this! We interviewed many people with the problem of being discrimination, most women have this situation. From the people we interviewed some of the women got passed the glass ceiling and have overcome discrimination. When they first started working they said that their bosses didn’t think that they would be capable to have this job or that they were being harassed by their male peers because they were considered weak. My group wanted to spread the word about problems women go through in the workforce; we made a game called “Why Not a Women”. It was a board game that we mixed between the game of life and monopoly. We purposely rigged the game so that the women would not be able to win since they had to pass the glass ceiling. The men didn’t have the concept of the class ceiling so it was very easy for the man to win. In our society most companies have male leaders, male ceos, and we tried showing our peers that this is a huge problem and that women can be just as powerful. Women are treated so much differently then men in the workforce, even if they do the same amount of work they still get paid less than men. Us women need to change this; speak up!
