On February 1st we met with Allison Grover at Zara Terez. Allison is parent at the LREI community as well. She is also the president of Zara Terez and has only been working there for a year or so. Zara Terez is a legging company, but they do sell shirt/sweatshirts as well. They have many different types of prints on all leggings, for example on one of the leggings they have donuts on it, and on one of the shirts they had put the snapchat rainbow puking effect but changed it to a bulldog puking out a rainbow. They have so many unique ideas behind their clothing line.
Before working at Zara Terez Allison worked at Goldman Sachs but wanted to leave since she was having a child. She wasn’t planning to go back to work after having her kid but her partner introduced her to one of her friends who worked with Zara Terez and they connected. Allison has always liked finance and at Zara Terez her job is to publicize the company, so sending out emails, making sure that celebrities are tagging them on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook and that they are being talked in the New’s Paper. Since she mostly works on a computer it’s easier for her to work from home. Allison told us that she mostly works from home which she likes even though she is on her computer all day she gets to be with her family and kids. But by working from home she has to put as much effort as she would at work, which sometimes means taking a conference call on Saturday.
Allison also told us that she was never discriminated by her gender and at Zara Terez, its mostly women working there. From when my group was walking around the office we could only point out 3 men working there. Allison had a whole different perspective on women in the workplace and how she was treated. It was nice to hear something totally different from the previous people we have interviewed.
