On January 26, 2015, my group had an interview with Anthony Rogers-Wright. We first saw Anthony on our first fieldwork at Patagonia’s screening “This Changes Everything.” We thought he was a very interesting and powerful speaker so we decided to contact him. Once we go in touch with Anthony we set up and interview at LREI. We asked Anthony how he felt about the Paris Climate Meeting, and he said he was kind of disappointed. He said the word “woman” was only used twice and that one of the main reasons he was disappointed was because women weren’t as involved in the agreement as they should’ve been. Anthony stands up for and supports LGBTQ, women’s and many more rights, but he think thats climate change is the most important. He said that one way to get the government’s attention is peaceful, civil disobedience. He also said youth have more power than some may think. Many politicians would look bad on the internet if they rejected a kids questions about climate change. My entire group thought that the interview went very well. We learned a lot from Anthony and thought his opinions were very insightful. Our next step is to send Anthony the recording of the interview. He also said that his organization would be glad to work with us again soon, so we might contact him again. Another step we will take is potentially contacting our local politics about what they think about climate change. After the interview, we had lunch at the school and went back to class.
