After our first experience at LSA we thought it would be a good place to go back to. At LSA this time we helped restock the pantry and helped clients. These clients have families starting at one person and going to eight or above. Unlike most food pantries LSA give people a amount of points in the grain, protein, fruit, vegetable, and dairy department and then they get to choose what they want within that range. This range is determined by the amount of people in a family and the amount of food in a container. For example a can of beans is one point and a quart of apple juice is three points. Today Sophie and I served a family of eight. This meant that they had 14 points in both the fruit and vegetable sections. LSA doesn’t just have a pantry the have a child day care center and other groups that meet with parents and teens. Overall, LSA is a multi tasking center that helps many individuals and families in many different ways.
