We meat with lea gunn barrett. She is the executive director of the organization, NYAGV. New Yorkers against gun violence. Tough we talked briefly she told us a lot about what she is doing. She is trying to get signatures from our parent bored for a law that is intended to make you lock up your gun. This will be a good thing because it will make it harder for kids to get ahold of there parents gun and to hurt themselves or others. This law is named Nicholas Naumkim. He was accidentally shot by his friend with his fathers loaded and unlocked gun. The law entails that some one must lock up there gun in a safety storage box or have it on there person at all times. This will happen when a person has a child or mentally unstable person in there home. We are working with her on her presentation to our schools parent bored. We are giving a sort speach in the beginning on why we think that this law is important. This is a video that was made by The NYAGV about why it is necessary to have this law:
