We recently met with Daniel Sherrell, to talk about climate change, in which he is working to change. He is a member of the Sierra Club, an environmental group. We listened to him speak at the Patagonia screening of This Changes Everything a little while ago. We also recently went to a rally and press conference at City Hall against coal bailouts, which Daniel Sherrell led. When meeting, he spoke with us about why was involved in climate justice, and what he thinks of it and what we should and can do. He told us that for a while, his father worked in Antarctica, and over time he saw how it changed. Because of climate change, places like Antarctica are melting. That was why he decided to get involved in climate justice, because it greatly affected him, and plainly showed him how much it would affect the world. He said that as kids, it’s great that we’re already so involved in climate justice, and that we should continue trying to change climate change. It’s also important for other young people to get involved, because climate change will affect us the most, and kids should be educated and aware of climate change so that we can change it. He also recommended looking at the 350 organization, because it’s very globally involved, and it focuses a lot on what we’ve been learning about. Overall, it was a great meeting, and I’m glad we got to learn so much about climate change and discuss it’s effects on us.
