My group and I interviewed Susie Scher who works at Goldman Sachs. Susie has worked there for 25 years now. We first took the train up and we were first introduced by a nice lady named Melissa. When we first got off of the elevator, we saw this huge area filled with rows of desks and computers. I pointed out to Dakota, of the difference from men to women there were. There were about 3 women in a row out of 12 people. We then walked into Susie’s office, we put our stuff down and went upstairs to get lunch. Again, Dakota and I were looking at the difference between the men and women and their different nationalities were. We then went down stairs and started to interview her. She said at first getting a job was hard, since she didn’t know what she wanted to do. She was going in and doing interviews and she got a job as an investment banker. When she was first starting her job she was very young and she worked with mostly all men. Back then men weren’t as nice and they made rude comments to all of the women. Men could say anything they wanted to the women. They always would make comments on how they dressed or what they brought into work that day. She had so many challenges in her life. Overall we had a great interview and I think this interview led us in a different direction with our social justice group.
