This was a really good first fieldwork because we learned a lot about our topic and what people our doing in our community to make a difference. We learned about the Algonquin Pipeline and Spectra is trying to build an expansion that travels through many upstate communities and completely destroying the envirement. As well as about how in the South Bronx FedEx is planning to build a new factory there and have 80,000 trucks travel there everyday. How 1 in 4 kids have asthma there and how there are already 4 other factories already there. Despite all this, it was interesting to and really cool to see how the people who live in those communities were responding to these challenges out in front of them. We also learned about the beyond coal campaign, this campaign is plotting to get rid of all the coal factories in Ameica by 2030. They have closed 206 and have 316 to go. It was cool to see what all these people were doing and to be able to chose what we wanted to participate in. All in all it was a great introduction.
