On Thursday, December 11th, 2014, Siena, Monica and I took the B train to 42nd street, to meet with the co-founder of Empowered by You.

Empowered by You is an underwear company that uses the profits to help women start up their own companies. They find women all over the world and get them going. They are based around micro financing.

We walked in the office building and were directed towards the fourth floor to the company headquarters, where we met Charlotte. After sitting down in one of the conference rooms, she showed us a bunch of samples and fabric that they use to make the product. On the back of every package there is a story of the woman’s name, location, and what type of business they started.

She told us about how the company has started to pair up with other clothing company’s who design some of the panties and sell the product in their stores. They have recently paired up with Calypso, and they sell at several stores including the popular gym, Equinox.

Empowered by you is an amazing company that does amazing things. Their involvement in micro financing is truly inspirational and I hope everybody buys their product; it’s for a great cause.
