Interview with Peggy Kern: Author of Little Peach

On Friday, December 12th, my group and I met with the talented Peggy Kern to discuss her book Little Peach. Little Peach cleverly captures the life of a 14 year old girl named Michelle as she is forced to make the hard decision to leave her home and travel to New York, where she is tricked into joining the sex trafficking industry.

After we met with Peggy for a private interview, she met with our whole class for a reading and some questions. She began with asking us all what we thought the average age a girl enters the sex trafficking trade. Two of our classmates believed it was between 15 and 17. “13 is the average age a girl enters the sex trafficking trade, and that’s only the average, which means some girls enter at a younger age.” she replied.

We are very thankful to have met with Mrs. Kern and can’t wait to see Little Peach published!
