On November 16th Keith, Nolan, Dalton, and I went on a march in Poughkeepsie. This march was organized by Million Moms March, founded by Donna Dees. The march was on a bridge cross the Hudson River. When we got there, the speaker gave us a shout out. As we started to march, we saw many people with signs, protesting the active gun laws and background checks and wanted to have stricter gun laws and more background checks. We got to take pictures of some people with their signs and met with a woman who allowed us to speak at city hall. We asked the police on their views on gun safety and gun laws but they didn’t really give us information. On the way back over, we saw some people talking about how active gun laws should be kept how it is. They made some interesting points but most sounded like excuses. Overall the trip was an important one to go to as we got to speak at city hall and get some important contacts.
