Our group met with someone called Donna Dees. Donna Dees is an activist against gun violence. She is the person who organized the Million Moms March in Washington D.C. About 750,000 people marched with her on that day. The goal for our fieldwork was to learn more about our topic and to realize how our topic affects regular people. What we also wanted was to expand our list of people to contact for more fieldworks. Donna gave us someone to contact who has been the victim of gang violence and another fieldwork which is on Saturday the 16th.
I learned a lot when we talked with Donna. I learned that many people, a lot more than I thought, are victims of gun violence. The 750,000 people are moms that wanted to go to D.C and march. A lot more people on the other side of the country have probably been affected by gun violence. Donna gave us some people to contact, so maybe the people we contact will give us some other contacts and we will just keep expanding.
