Amanda Moretti my fellow class mates mom recommended a field work for my group and I with a organization called the coalition for the homeless. She has worked with them frequently and knows the director Juan De La Cruz. We went to the location which was at the back of a church in midtown. Their was a room with tables set up with piles and piles of different types of food from salads to sandwiches to cookies and deserts. each of us were assigned to a station with other volunteer workers. I worked at the desert station and gave out cookie and cake which were very popular. After about an hour and a half after all the people came in and got their food we packed up and left. It was a very eye- opening experience about how how many people can’t afford food and I felt really good that I helped people. We also scheduled an interview with the director of the organization Juan De La Cruz
