On Monday, November 19th our SJ group went to WAT-AAH again. Our goal while we were there was to When we were there Christine Widga (Director of marketing) wanted us to start our project for the concert coming up the next week. At the event our group will have a booth and have posters. All of us brainstormed some topics that we thought would interest kids and teens about why they shouldn’t drink soda and they should really be drinking water. We came up with the ideas of having five different topics. I chose my topic to be “Water is everywhere”, my poster will be about all of the different objects and places that you can find water. For example, did you know that your hair is 10% water? That day all of us started to research all of our topics. The topics included, Dangers of drinking soda, Benefits of drinking water, How many grams of sugar are in once can of soda (depending on the soda), Childhood Obesity and Water is everywhere. To help us brainstorm we made posters and gave each other ideas to what we could do or what we could put on our posters. Once we got all of our research done we started to come up with ideas for our poster. We decided after the event to keep our posters for our Teach-In later in the school year. At the event it will be really nice to interact with teens our age and discuss all of these different topics that we have to share with them. We will also be able to maybe feel what it’s like to do a Teach-In. I hope our booth at the concert will really teach teens the ways they can be healthy and stay healthy.
