Hi! We are five eighth graders in New York City from Little Red School House and Elizabeth Irwin High School. As a part of a year-long social justice project, our grade has been focusing on Human and Civil Rights. We have chosen to focus on health and nutrition issues. Our group’s goal, No Sugar Added, is to help educate and inform people about why sugar is not good for you. We have been working with a company called WAT-AAH! WAT-AAH is a water company that has made it’s goal to educate kids about why water is better for you than sodas and other sugary drinks. In America we have a rising obesity issue which is linked to an overconsumption of sugar and genetically modified components in foods, snacks and drinks. Our group wants to tackle this issue by educating ourselves and our peers.
