Scratch Reflection

I think my game turned out really well because I was very focused while I was doing it. Also my friend Izzy helped me a lot because some of the things that she knew I didn’t. Something I struggled with was making it ask a question with the answer equal what it actually spells. Because in the beginning it would ask the question and if you got it wrong it would say nice job. Something I am proud of is that they don’t all say there’s lines at the same time. They wait for there turn.

The Atomic Model

unnamed

In science I made this model of an atom on the website Tinker cad. When I made this I was thinking about how the picture looked in the video History Of The World In Two Hours. It was sort of squiggly and had a lot of parts to it. It had things sticking out of it like little arms. I think that is what mine looks like.

I think my picture compares with John Daltons discovery Different Elements because his has a lot of shapes and they are everywhere in the picture and they are different colors just like mine. Also his are in one space and not that spread out and mine are also.

I have learned that protons have a positive electric charge so they have a lot of energy and the electrons have a negative electric charge so they don’t have that much energy.

Question 1: What is happening your zoetrope?

Answer: In my zoetrope there is a person in it and it is riding a segway and then it sees a sign that says no segways.

Question 2: Did you like this project why or why not?

Answer: I like this project because I like to draw and there is a lot of drawing involved with zoetropes. I also liked it because you can draw whatever you are feeling.

Question 3: Is this an example of your best work why or why not?

Answer: I think it is my best work because I spent a lot of time on it.

Question 4: How, if at all, will you work differently in your next project.

Answer: I think the next project I will work more efficiently because I think I talked to much when I did this project.

Summer Book Review

imgresThe name of this book is The name of this book is a secret. The author of this books name is Pseudonymous Bosch. The main characters in my book are Cass and Max-Ernest. The main problem in my book is that Ms. Mauvais and Dr. L are looking for the magician’s notebook that has the secret they are looking for inside.

An event that changed the direction of the story is when Cass and Max-Ernest became friends because Cass no longer was by herself she had a collaborator. Cass makes a big decision by going to the Midnight Sun. The problem of the story does not get resolved but Cass and Max-Ernest escape from Ms. Mauvais and Dr. L search. “As the limousine crashed through the spa gates Ms. Mauvais clenched her fist tin frustration” page 309.

I love this book. I like this book because it is a fast book and I like fast books. Also because it is a interesting book and I don’t like boring books. Also because all of the  events go right into each other and I like that. I think this book is good for a mysterious reader because there are a lot of mysteries they have to solve. I rate this five out of five stars I think everyone should read it.

Welcome to your digital portfolio!

Welcome to your brand new digital portfolio/blog at blogs.lrei.org!

Your portfolio can be used for many things through out your middle and high school years, including:

  • Documenting and reflecting on your learning, passions, and interests, both in and out of school
  • Curating and highlight work for your Family Conferences
  • In some instances, your teachers will ask you to submit, reflect and comment on work in this portfolio

It is our hope that you also seek to make this a personally relevant learning space in which you curate work that is important and meaningful to you. As you build this learning space, we also hope that you will use it as a way to connect with other learners in the LREI community and beyond.

Your LREI account (Mail, Docs/Drive) credentials will automatically get you into your blog. Here are a few things you’ll want to take a look at:

1. Change the name of your blog. To do this, go back to the Dashboard and click on the “Home” symbol, then on “MS Digital Portfolio Template” under “This Blog.”

Blog

In the field for “Site Title,” add a new title. You can use your first name if you want (e.g., “Mark’s Digital Portfolio”), but don’t use your first and last name. You can also create a title that doesn’t have your name in it. Be as creative as you want, but keep in mind that the title should relate to the purpose of the portfolio.

title

After you’ve added a new title, click “Save Changes” at the bottom of the page.

2. Add a Post

For the most part, you’ll be adding items to your blog as posts. To add a new post, you can click on the +New button in the top bar of your blog, and then select “Post.”

Screen Shot 2014-09-04 at 8.45.30 AM

You’ll want to give each post a title, and assign it to a Category. These categories are broken down by class and grade (e.g., fifth grade, core, etc.). This will allow you to organize and sort information so that you can control the look and feel of your blog. If you take a look at the menu bar under the blog title, you see the different groups of categories (e.g., class, grade, teacher, etc.).

When you’re done with your post you can click “Publish” on the side to make the post appear on your blog
