Clara’s Circuit Essay

Anyone, a kid, a grown up, a baby can make this world a better place. You don’t have to be rich or powerful to make the world a better place. Even being kind can change the way people think. In the Circuit, by Francisco Jimenez, even a person that seems powerless can make a difference in the world.

Francisco has other thoughts about his dreams and when he realizes he is not focusing he understands a little more about the real world and not his dreams. When he has those thoughts he is thinking about the things that don’t matter so in the book when Gabriel stands up for his rights he snaps out of what he used to think and now he wants to stand up for other people. In the middle of the story Fransico stands up to Carlos and tells him he won’t play unless Manuelito plays. “If Manuelito doesn’t play then I wouldn’t either,” Page 93. This quote connects to my thesis because he stands up for his rights and even though it is a small difference he still did it.

When Francisco doesn’t pay attention to the big things in life, sometimes he notices the small details. When you notice the small details it will get you to pay attention to things that you don’t usually notice. Francisco always notices small things that go wrong but now he has to learn the big things.

In the beginning of the book Francisco notices a small detail that leads him to a big idea. I followed my parents into the car and as mama was about to get in I asked “Can we go see Torito when we fget back,” Mama closed the car door and without answering and we speed off. Page 39. My quote connects to my thesis because he is thinking about his brother and even though he can’t it’s the thought that counts. This shows he can make a difference because even saying one nice thing that can help someone brighten up.

Francisco saves the fish because he wants to make a difference. Even though the fish are just fish he still made them happy by saving them.

Francisco also saves the fish because he has a big heart and he is willing to stand up for anything. When he takes some of the fish out of the creek he is standing up for them and giving them a better home. That means he just made a difference.

There were too many and I could not work fast enough to save them all. I prayed for rain but the sun just keeped beating down, turning the puddles into mud. I picked up one last small dying fish and took it to our next door neighbor who owned the goldfish. Page 50. My quote connects to the thesis because Francisco helped the fish and he made another difference in the world. It was small but he still made the world a better place with every fish he picked up. Even person that seems powerless can make a change in the world in a fantastic way. When Fransisco stood up to Carlos, when he thought about Torito and tried to make him feel better and when he saved little fish from the dying pond everyone of those things changed the world. He made a small difference but it still mattered. He saved lives and brightened someone’s day. All of those from one person out of millions of people. When you think about it everyone is at least doing one good thing and there are a lot of people so it is multiplied until the world is full of good deeds.

Right now in our world we need to stick together and do good things because politics are separating us and making us turn against each other. What if someone that you never liked or that you weren’t close too, did something in this world but you never knew and that thing affected your whole life?
