Eye Drawing

The eye project so far has been really fun to make. It has made me a lot better at sing different pencils and with a blending stump. I think that my eye drawing looks really realistic and I am very happy with it so far. The final part is completing the eyelashes which is no doubt the hardest. Especially in my case since I have so many. For my eye drawing to be really good I need to make sure that every eyelash has a beginning and an end.  Otherwise they don’t look real and then it seems like you are just scribbling. Every eyelash is dark at the beginning and lighter at the end, the thickness also changes. It makes the eyelash blend into the illusion more. I would not change anything in the pupil because it looks real. I would change what I had already done with the eyelashes. I thought that since I have so many i could scribble but I can’t since it does not look real. I would change some of the shading and make it a little darker outside of the eye. Other than that I think my eye looks good.

Art Blog Post Weekly Drawing 2

I chose this picture because I think it shows my best work. It was really hard for me to draw my hand holding my karate belt because it is really hard to make the angle you see your hand at look the same on the page. If you mess that up than it can look really weird. This one also shows my hand drawing skills which are pretty good if you ask me. Also, my karate belt means a lot to me as I have been doing martial arts for 8 years now. The assignment on the sheet was draw your hand holding something that is meaningful to you. Finally, as with the first drawing I posted, I also spent a lot of work after the fact coloring the drawing and making some changes. The link is down below.

My Self Portraits

I call this art my self portraits in different forms. I created this art by taking a picture and drawing a grid on that picture so that it would help me while drawing my self portrait later. If I drew a grid on another piece of paper than I can copy each individual square. Then, we learned many different technique to make our portraits look better such as foam plate printing or brush and ink. While I created this artwork I learned a lot better how to draw a face specifically how to draw eyes and a mouth. I also learned how to do foam plate printing which is something I had never done before though it is pretty fun. My favorite part of the artwork is the brush and ink. This is because I like the contrast of the black and the white of the background, shirt, hair, and face. If there was one thing I could change, I would add another color to my foam plate printing. It just feels like I could add more to it. While making this I was surprised how much better the outline drawings of my self portraits got from the first to the sixth. You can definitely see the difference. A final thing I want to share about this artwork is that I also like foam plate printing portrait because even though it only has two colors it is something new and I like how it turned out.
