Learning Habit Observation

My goal was perseverance and I feel like iv’e persevered really well lately. When i’m stuck I take a deep breath and go on. I still think that there are room to improve. For example in humanities I got a 2.5 and I wanted to revise it. I did not know how to revise it so I looked over everything and I persevered to find something which I did. I think that there is still room t improve but i’m getting better.

Learning Habits

One of the learning habit I am most proud of is Perseverance because I have been working really hard in math to get my grades up and understand it more. I always do the extra credit and always do more problems if I don’t understand the concept.

One of the learning habits i’m working on is Discussion and Listening. Overall I feel like I can listen without getting sidetracked but after a while I get sidetracked. I need to discuss more. My goal is to raise my hand at least three times in each classes.

Eye Drawing -Ryder

This is a picture of my eye that I made in art class using value pencils. For example we had 2H, HB, B, 2B, 4B and 6B. It all started with looking at a close-up photograph of my eye. Then I started sketching just the shape of my eye, and then I went into my iris and pupil with the lightest pencil (2H) and then went darker until it was as dark as my eye. I then sketched the details of my skin around my eye. To make it all look smooth, I used something called a blending stump. Then finally, I added my eyelashes. I feel really good. I feel like this is probably the best drawing I’ve done in Art class. Something that I would maybe change is make the eyelashes a little bit smaller and less dark, but overall I feel like I did great!

City Morning

CITY MORNING

Cars roaring

Shrieking

People walking, talking

click-click

Doors open

One second later

Quiet

One by one I hear something new

First the engine

Then chains

Then smoke

Then talking

Then yelling

Then everything starts up again.

What am I?

WHAT AM I

I keep you warm when I’m outside

I go away at night

I make you sweat

I make you tired

I make you burn

What am I?

Sun

I remember you

I REMEMBER YOU

I remember your big nose

I remember your beaming smile

That when you look at me it reminds me of happiness

I remember your baby feet

I remember your lovable chuckle

I remember you so clearly

But now you are gone

HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A BABY CAMEL

I saved a camel. Now the baby camel thinks that I am his mother because I am the first person he ever saw. It can get very annoying when a camel keeps on following you around and nudging you constantly. Here are some steps to help you:

  • Step one: When he gets a little nudging or starts acting weird, you have to give him milk. Babies rely on their mother’s milk so I have to get milk and give it to him. Any kind of milk will do. He thinks it is the same thing.
  • Step two: Bathing. Bathing is hard because he just wants to get out and run around just like a dog, but the problem is, he is a lot bigger. So what you do is hold him down without hurting him and scrub him with a brush with soap on it. When you are done, take him out and wrap him in a huge blanket. Then he will dry off in no time because it is very warm outside.

Those are all my tips for helping a baby camel.

HOW TO SAVE A CAMEL

I hear a scream. I run over to the place where I hear the scream and I see one of my camels is giving birth. She is pushing and pushing but just then, a snake bites her. So now she is dying so I run over there and just pray that she keeps on breathing so I can pull the baby out. I am feeling super scared. I am thinking, What if I mess up and he dies? So I take a deep breath and focus on what is happening. I finally see the legs, and without hurting the newborn, I try to pull him out. After a while of me trying to pull him out, a vulture takes an eye out of the dying mother and then she is dead, but that doesn’t stop me. I pulled and pulled and finally he came out. I am relieved that it worked and proud that I saved a camel’s life.

Muscular System

The muscular system helps you move. It has tendons that connect the muscle to the bone. The muscular system closely interacts with the skeletal system because it has some of the same pieces. Another fun discovery that we made was that all of our body parts that we worked on individually connected in the muscular system. Our question is, “Can muscles ever control themselves instead of waiting for the brain’s signal?”

Robotics

In Robotics, we had to design a robot and make it do all these different challenges that were progressively difficult. One of my favorite challenges along the way was to pick up a toy bee and pig and bring them back to base. We completed the challenge after a couple of tries! I’ve learned that in Robotics, you have to put a lot of effort and focus into it, and you might not succeed on your first try, but if you keep on trying and put your mind together with your teammates, then eventually you’ll figure it out.
