HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A BABY CAMEL
I saved a camel. Now the baby camel thinks that I am his mother because I am the first person he ever saw. It can get very annoying when a camel keeps on following you around and nudging you constantly. Here are some steps to help you:
- Step one: When he gets a little nudging or starts acting weird, you have to give him milk. Babies rely on their mother’s milk so I have to get milk and give it to him. Any kind of milk will do. He thinks it is the same thing.
- Step two: Bathing. Bathing is hard because he just wants to get out and run around just like a dog, but the problem is, he is a lot bigger. So what you do is hold him down without hurting him and scrub him with a brush with soap on it. When you are done, take him out and wrap him in a huge blanket. Then he will dry off in no time because it is very warm outside.
Those are all my tips for helping a baby camel.
HOW TO SAVE A CAMEL
I hear a scream. I run over to the place where I hear the scream and I see one of my camels is giving birth. She is pushing and pushing but just then, a snake bites her. So now she is dying so I run over there and just pray that she keeps on breathing so I can pull the baby out. I am feeling super scared. I am thinking, What if I mess up and he dies? So I take a deep breath and focus on what is happening. I finally see the legs, and without hurting the newborn, I try to pull him out. After a while of me trying to pull him out, a vulture takes an eye out of the dying mother and then she is dead, but that doesn’t stop me. I pulled and pulled and finally he came out. I am relieved that it worked and proud that I saved a camel’s life.
Guild Refelection
Last nights guild experience was amazing. I was in the Arms and Armors guild. I loved it because I loved showing off my trebuchet. A lot of people were amazed when it actually shot. I once hit the wall and it was awesome. Also our guild once had 30 people. I got a little nervous for the first show but all the others I was feeling great and confident. Something that was surprising was how many people were at our knighting ceremony!! I thought it was a great experience to see others peoples guilds. I saw the stonemasons, artisans and butchers bakers candle stick makers. Overall I really enjoyed it!!
Something meaningful I did this break was…
Something meaningful I learned this break about myself was that I am very helpful and flexible about doing anything. I would help out by taking care of my little cousins when there parents were doing something else. My ca delis was how the grownups were working really hard and I felt bad so I wanted to help by volunteering to watch the kids while they go to the beach. I was flexible by if somebody was doing one thing that I really wanted to do but another thing needed my help I would go to the one that needed my help because I didn’t was them to get stuck. One goal that I have is that if somebody is having trouble with caring something I would help, same with work or anything. Also if somebody needed help with something during recess and nobody helped them I would be flexible and help. I learned how helpful and flexible I can be.
Knight Monologue
I am about to be a knight. I went through all the hard things like not being able to eat for one whole day, and now I am ready to be struck with the sword from the king. My heart is beating fast and my legs are shaking. One fear that I have is getting killed in the war, which most knights are. I am worried that my horse is going to get killed or fall down. I am looking forward to being able to represent my king in war, which means that I will be able to kill enemies. I feel excited to get knighted by the king with his sword. I am also nervous because I don’t know what to say to the king.
Finally the day has come! I am ready to meet the king. I walk down a long hall. The king asks me some questions like “Do you promise that you will not betray me? Will you be brave and kind to the poor and weak?” I promise, “Of course, my lord, I shall always serve you.” Then he puts the sword on my shoulder and now I am a knight.
3rd Quarter Reflection on Book Partnership
My partner and I read Holes. Our partnership was really good because nobody read ahead so we got to talk about the same ideas in the book. We were both really chatty which helps because we could share with each other our thoughts about the book that the other person might not have thought about. I’m proud that I have been on top of doing my homework and reading. I am also proud that I finished and understood two challenging books. One challenge for me was understanding some of the words and phrases in the book. One example is the word neutralizes. I didn’t know what it means, but now I know that it means “to make something neutral.” When I came across one of these words, I asked my partner if he knew what it meant, or my mom if I was home. If my partner does not know, then I ask Heather, my teacher, or any teacher that’s there. That was the best book ever!
Memory Map
I choose this piece because I worked really hard on it. It was challenging but it was still really fun. The challenge for me was printing out all the pictures and choosing the right one. I had to do a lot of small details like making the water because if I mess up then I will draw on my islands in the map. The learning habit I focused on for this piece is perseverance because I really just wanted to do the map. But then it looked really good with the pictures so I actually really wanted to do it. But the pictures were not working. The printer was stuck. So I persevered through it and it finally worked.
