Mandarin Chinese New Year Festival

The Chinese new year festival was fun because we got to perform and watch older kids perform. One of my favorite parts of it was Dragon boat racing, it was fun because we got to paddle on these boats called dragon boats (not really, we just had a paddle on an exercise machine) which in real life has 30 people on them.

The picture from above is of me performing. I had to say an idiom in Chinese then explain the meaning in english. My favorite part about this activity was making calligraphy because we got to learn about how you change the thickness of the stroke while painting to make it look authentic. I also loved watching the other grades perform because it felt like we were at an actual festival which was really fun.
