I chose initiative as my learning habit I would like to focus on. I thought about choosing others, as I think I could always improve in a lot of others such as attention to detail or collaboration. I chose initiative as I think I could definitely work on that and I feel like it’s very important. I was planning on choosing discussion and listening, but I feel like initiative kind of applies to that and initiative feels more general and broader. A lot of the other learning habits are more specific, and while they’re still useful, they feel too specific. And I feel like I should focus on it more because I value it more as a learning habit. I haven’t taken initiative much this year, and I really wish I had taken it on the Williamsburg trip as I feel like it would’ve been very helpful and made things easier later. I plan on applying it a lot in class, and to be more involved in class discussions. I think that would also help when working in groups with other people, I should be more involved and maybe try to trust my instincts or ideas more. It’s a very helpful learning habit and I think, at least for me, it’s a good one to focus on.
