My Photoshop Project

This is an image of Tilda and I riding through the jungle. In order to present the notion that we were in the rainforest, I did some research and incorporated some animals that you might find in the jungle. I believe my photo represents change in the sense that I had photoshopped us out of our real background and replaced that background with something else, but yet we were all still still riding through the jungle, in hopes of making a difference. This is relevant today, when a lot of change is taking place, and teaches the lesson that you cannot just sit back and watch change disrupt our world – you must tackle it by using your voice. I have used many different elements in this project. I have used emphasis in the placement of our bike, drawing attention to it. I used balance when figuring out the scale of my project, and how everything is mostly to scale, creating a sense of balance. I used contrast when choosing the lighting of each element and layer, contrasting each element to create emphasis on different aspects of the project. For example, the shadowing I put into the picture created contrast. I used harmony in the placement of each animal and plant, trying to put each of them equidistant from the bicycle in order to show harmony between the animals, but mostly draw attention to the bike. Rhythm occurred in my picture when drawing attention to the edges of my picture first with the animals. Overall, I have really enjoyed this project and am looking forward to doing more digital art in the future!

Art Value Chart

In art, we just learned about the value chart. The value chart is where you make different pencil marks, and then use different shade pencils. You show the different shades, and you also show the different values. One value is hatching. Hatching is where you make a bunch of lines facing the same direction. It helps create a good texture. Then, there’s cross hatching. It’s basically the same as hatching, but instead you are doing the hatching in two different directions. Then, there is stipple. Stipple is a bunch of dots (we drew them with sharpie) and you draw a bunch of them, until you’ve filled in the page. The dots can be however far apart. Last, there’s random marks.  Random marks is one mark that you make on the page continuously, in order to fill in the page. All of these create a good texture in the drawing. Here’s mine:

My Favorite Project

My favorite project is my map project. I really liked the assignment for the map project. I liked how we got to incorporate places that were important to us. What I did for the assignment was I made a mobile and attached glass pieces with parts of the city that were important to me. It was a really great symbol of everywhere that was important to me. I overall loved doing this project.Margaret Map Project 1 (1)

My Map Project

For final map project, I decided to make a mobile out of my glass pieces. I used a little piece from the Margaret Map Project 1 (1)subway map on each of my glass pieces, and then used sharpie and wrote in the rest of the map. I had a lot of fun with this project. It was fun making the mobile, because I had never made one before.

Art Map Project

In art, we were asked to make art pieces, that included a city subway map. My idea is to cut out multiple glass panels, and in each one put a different part of the city. My next step is to make more glass panels, and put more parts of the city. Overall, I have really enjoyed this

My Art Digital Portfolio Post

In Art we made geometric patterns. I enjoyed figuring out what pattern I would use and what colors I would use. I also found it cool to learn how to use an exact o knife. I also liked positioning the pieces. Here is my geometric shape drawing:

My 3rd Quarter Artist Statement

In art class, we made a bunch of different pieces of art. We made wire sculptures, observational drawings, portraits, geometric patterns and fabric collages. One piece of art that I was particularly proud of was my fabric collage. I am in the medicine guild, so my felt was related to medicine. It was of a table full of different potions. In guilds, I’m a wise women. I sell love potions and different little objects that do different deeds such as keeping evil away. In the fabric picture, my hands are reaching down to grab a jar of leeches.
